SJ Hickory Paloma aka: "Polly" - 14.2H, 2018' bay AQHA mare
We adore this little mare - she is so very just plain east, always great natured and pleasant to deal with, and she is as SMOOTH traveling as they come. Riding this mare feels great, and you really have to sit on her to appreciate how nice she is. She rides around like an old broke using ranch gelding, just solid, honest, easy, and point and shoot style ride. We have used her all spring to gather and doctor, and have started breakaway work on her. She has sorted and tracked and roped in the pens lots, and is very kind, patient, easy and willing. She has been so solid we have even used her for my own daughter, (which is big-time breaking my personal rules, as far as a horses' age-verus a child's age) -but this little mare has literally, never put a foot wrong. Polly was originally started as a cutter and could make a great sorting or penning horse for a low numbered local sorter. She would make a great all around horse for anyone. She is a cute enough mover to get you started in the local stock horse competitions or ranch riding, and would be a great all-around for a 4H kid. She lopes off right in her tracks softly and smoothly, has a decent cowhorse/using style turn-around and rollback, she lopes and jogs around naturally low-headed on a draping rein, she has a hard stop, backs up soft, and is well started on a lead change. She is extremely kind and tolerant and relaxes down to whatever level is asked of her. When we load up a whole pile of everyone on the place for a big trail ride, this is the horse we load the loud speaker and the beer cooler onto - she is always chill, willing, and quiet minded.
